The easy rhythms of the farm will carry the children from chores to play and back again throughout the day.  Hands will be immersed in soil and water, brambles and berries, as the children experience nature fully through their senses.  Days will become adventures as children explore the garden picking and eating organic fruits and veggies, turning nature into artwork, mossy bark into fairy homes, and the experience of their own farmer’s market. Plus many surprises.

Each day campers will arrive feeling the daily cycles of farm life and contributing to the raising of food. Their hands will plant the fall crops, tend to the summer vegetables and fruits, take part in harvesting and preparing food and will conclude with a farmer’s market. Throughout the week, campers will go on adventures discovering the joys of time spent in nature and the lessons and surprises the Earth has to teach. 

Junior Counselor Program

If you are a teen who loves nature and the farm, consider becoming a Junior Counselor.  You can enjoy all the fun of Farm Camp while sharing your knowledge with young campers.  Develop your leadership skills by acting as a link between campers and senior counselors with daily camp activities.  You will spend the days with our Environmental Educators honing your skills before being assigned to the six to eight year olds or 9-12 year old campers.  This is a perfect way to gain community service experience and build your resume for college applications!

This free week long program for students entering grades 8-11 will provide an introduction to careers in the fire department. We are planning a field trip to a training center as well as professionals and volunteers to share their experiences. We are hoping for an awesome week. The goal of the academy is to help participating youth to understand the role firefighters play in the community, job duties performed and requirements of becoming a firefighter. In addition, the program will foster relationships between the adults and the youth participants. This will be accomplished with mock situations and lectures, field trips, physical fitness exercises, and games. Space is limited!

This youth academy is presented with the support of our local Beacon Police Department and PBA. The goal of the program is to help participating youth understand the roles and responsibilities of police officers in our community, job duties performed and requirements of becoming a police officer. Students go on field trips to a court, correctional facility, training center, police academy, police station and more. They will also be trained in first aid and CPR.

Beacon Music Factory Summer Camp 2019

Beacon Music Factory is an out-of-the-box music school and performance venue in the Hudson Valley, with a roster of more than 12 teachers and nearly 200 students of all ages. Students can join a rock band, sing in a choir, play in a string chamber group, and pick up a wide variety of instruments. They offer private lessons, group classes, and a wide range of workshops in rock, folk, jazz, and classical for beginners and pros. Beacon Music Factory also organizes concerts and music festivals.

Beacon Rock Camp

Rockers will be put into groups with other kids of similar ages and skill levels. Join a band. In our Rock Band Boot Camp for teens you start playing together on the very first day and you don't stop. It doesn't matter how much or how little experience you have. You'll learn how to rock out with others. While making music with your peers in the rehearsal studio, you'll get better at your instrument and develop your skills—and your swagger.
At the end of each rock camp session you will put on a show that parents, family and friends are invited to attend.

"Camp @ The Camp"

Beacon Recreation is offering five weeks of camp designed to deepen children's relationship to the local ecology, nourish their own creativity, build community, and simply play outdoors. Run by an experienced team of youth leaders , Camp @ The Camp will offer another summer of fun at the Settlement Camp. Each week of camp has a different theme. Every day, rain or shine, children ages 5-11 will play outside and get creative (4 year-olds are accepted for one week only).  Registration begins March 11, 2019 for Beacon Residents, March 14th for all campers!

Common Ground Farm Day Camp 2019

Give your child the experience of being down on the farm. If they love books and TV programs about barnyard animals, they may love this camp. There is a strong focus on the soil, trees, sun and water and how they work together to grow food. Kids' lunches are bring-your-own, but will be supplemented with harvested vegetables. Sessions for older kids include making a cookbook. Each week has a different theme that teaches different skill sets. Your child just may come home and teach you about composting! Rose Hill Manor Summer Day Camp 2019

Rose Hill Manor Summer Campers welcome the summer months, spending it with their friends doing arts & crafts, taking field trips, playing games, doing science experiments, cooking, hiking, swimming and much, much more. Each week of our program comprises of a different theme including Nature, Sports, Discovery and Exploration. Campers get the opportunity to explore these different themes and choose from a number of available activities.

There's always a predetermined schedule, so you will know exactly where your child will be on any given day. Camp hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, with early drop-off and late pick-up available upon request. Children are required to bring a bag lunch, but Rose Hill provides snacks and water throughout the day.

Our home base is the school of course, but also Beacon's beautiful Memorial Park, approximately 1.5 miles from Rose Hill Manor. Some of the places our campers visit include: The Beacon Pool, Red Wing Park, Splash Down Beach, Bear Mountain, Bowdoin Park and more! We take so much pride in sharing and exploring this beautiful region with our Camp Kids.

Beacon Art Studios, located in the old Beacon High School, offers the "Project Funway" Summer Fashion Sewing Program.

Project Funway Summer Sewing Camp: 
Fashion designers-in-training will spend the week expanding and testing their skills by designing their own fashion line through sketching and sewing. They will put new spins on old ideas, and create one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. At the end of each session, students will produce a fashion show, to which family is invited.

Magicarium Camp
In this half-day camp, children ages 4-10 will explore the magic of the world we live in. Inspired by local lore and legend, as well as the mighty powers of nature, projects will open the eyes of even the most skeptical kids, prompting the question: do you believe in magic? Children will start the day with open play in throughtfully presented stations that highlight themes and content for the day. A morning meeting will follow, including an introduction of the day's project. We will break for snack before we spend the rest of the morning engaged in making!

Through mindfulness exercises that consider each and every part of the body as a tool for mark-making, students will be given a GIANT “canvas” to investigate and work on over the course of the week. Explorations into basic engineering, such as the construction of a pendulum for dripping paint in an arching shape, will open up new and exciting possibilities!

Over the course of the week we will use various pieces of special Compass Arts equipment (such as our parachute and tunnels) as well as cardboard, found objects, and our imaginations to construct amazing structures to play in everyday! Rompatom Music Camp 2019
Students will be immersed in a variety of challenging instrumental and vocal material, learning about improvisation, theory, and composition, and creating a vibrant performance that will be shared that Friday at the end of the camp. A focus on rhythmic work and ensemble playing, combined with movement and theatrical elements, brings a deeper understanding to musicianship and music making that is enthralling for this age.

Stony Kill Farm, the large, sprawling farm located on Route 9D, is offering fun, creative and enriching hands-on, nature-inspired adventures for their campers. Stony Kill Farm Camp is a place where your child will explore and discover the wonders of the outdoors while developing a sense of respect and appreciation for the natural world. BPAC is holding their 2nd annual Musical Theatre Summer Camp in the heart of Beacon's Main Street.

Beacon Lacrosse Camp

Girls Lacrosse Summer Camp
Grades: 2-8
Days: Week of July 9, 2018
Time: 9am-12pm
Location: Beacon High School Lacrosse fields.
Fee: $125 for week

Players will be grouped into separate teams according to ability, age, size, and previous experience. Each camper must bring their own water and mouth guard. Sticks and googles  are encouraged but we have some extra.

This program provides a nurturing environment that encourages social, motor and creative experiences that excite a love for learning, music, sculpture, painting, drawing, language, and creative movement. Their program room looks and feels like a stimulating children's museum, with different activity stations to immediately occupy young minds. Includes a small outdoor ropes course for little people.
Great For: Kids who love building, drawing, dirt, animals, rivers, and planting and tending to gardens.
Swimming? No, but kids do play in water
