COMMITTEE MEMBER OPENING: Beacon Farmers Market Committee Members

The Beacon Farmers Market is seeking new Market Committee Members. Here’s your chance to support the Market and advocate for the change you would like to see. The mission of the Beacon Farmers Market is to feed and engage the Beacon community, support local farms and businesses and create a more just food system. The Market Committee is a group of volunteers who steer the Market and advise the Market Manager year-round.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Every Member is expected to attend 4 meetings a year to plan for the Indoor and Outdoor Market seasons and to officially select vendors for each season.

  • In addition, Members must join at least one Sub-Committee which allows individuals to tailor their involvement to their interests and specific skills. The Sub-committees focuses are:

    STEERING COMMITTEE
    Focused on larger partnerships, agenda-setting for Full Committee Meetings, lease agreements, permits and liability compliance, and additional concerns as decided by the Committee.

    FARMING & AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE
    Broadly responsible for looking out for the interests of the Farm Vendors, go on Farm Visits with the Market Manager, work on Farm recruitment each season, and additional concerns as decided by the Committee.

    FOOD JUSTICE COMMITTEE
    Focused on fulfilling the Food Justice component of the Market's Mission including coordination with partner organizations, looking out for the interests of Food Benefit users, and additional concerns as decided by the Committee.

    EDUCATION + ENTERTAINMENT
    Supporting the Market Manager in programming educational events and additional entertainment at the Market, engaging with related communities, and additional concerns as decided by the Committee.

    MARKETING + VISITOR SERVICES
    Take on expanding the customer base for the Market through marketing campaigns, at-market initiatives, engaging with the broader community, and additional concerns as decided by the Committee.

HIRING: Web UX/UI Designer (P/T) at ViaHero

  • Work with our COO and Product team to develop the scope of a new feature.

  • Develop drawings, wireframes and final designs, through iterative feedback.

  • Work with our engineering team to ensure the feature is executed successfully.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of UX/UI experience, preferably with an online consumer brand. 

  • Bonus: HTML, CSS, Javascript or React experience.

  • Experienced UX and UI designer, obsessed with the user's journey.

  • A passion for online consumer brands and experimentation.

  • Flexible schedule, able to meet in Beacon or NYC (Flatiron) in person 1-2x per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the marketing strategy across all ViaHero channels including content marketing, affiliate partner marketing, customer referral marketing and performance marketing (email, retargeting ads, prospecting ads).

  • Craft a marketing plan that accelerates momentum and evangelism among our 20,000 paying travelers.

  • Demand generation: Develop, test and implement new high-impact, multi-channel strategies.

  • Define and own marketing metrics and goals, including owning the marketing stack and attribution models.

  • Work strategically with founders to drive quarterly and yearly goals.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product marketing experience, with 1.5+ years as a Marketing Manager or higher role, with an online consumer brand.

  • A proven track record in leading channel strategy for email, retargeting ads, and performance marketing.

  • Experience executing on strategy within an online consumer brand; experience within the travel, tech-enabled services or marketplaces is a big bonus.

  • Proven ability to develop marketing channel strategy, and then turning that into actionable items that you or an entry-level marketer can clearly execute.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Proven track record of defaulting to action and asking more questions.

  • Fluent across digital marketing channels - SEO, SEM, social ads, email marketing, lead generation, and affiliate marketing.

  • Experienced product marketer who can take brand messaging and optimize a channel.

  • Obsessed with the user journey, and you understand how product and marketing intertwine to craft the ideal user experience.

  • Ability to have detailed conversations regarding analytics and metrics while balancing with consumer and creative insight.

HIRING: City Of Newburgh Industrial Development Agency (IDA) Hiring Administrative Positions - PART TIME

The City of Newburgh Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has two positions available in its office. The positions can be combined or remain separate. The first position is for bookkeeping, and the second position is for secretarial services to assist the Executive Director. A background in modified accrual accounting is required for the bookkeeping position. Candidates with PARIS and/or IDA work experience will be given preference but not necessary. All candidates must have strong organizational skills and familiarity with relevant software (Quickbooks, MS Office Suite). All work to be performed in the office during business hours. Attendance and the taking of minutes at monthly board meeting, currently at 6 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of the month, is also required. Hourly pay dependent upon experience. Independent contractor status with annual contract/agreement.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BOOKKEEPING:

  • Input all transactions into Quickbooks software (transactions under 20 per month).

  • Prepare deposit(s) and take to bank.

  • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliation(s).

  • Prepare 1096 and 1099s at years’ end.

  • Maintain files with appropriate backup for all transactions.

  • Provide assistance to Treasurer and Finance/Audit Committee if requested.

  • Provide assistance to auditor for annual audit.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SECRETARIAL :

  • Take and transcribe minutes of the board meeting and notes for any committee meetings, knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order helpful.
