The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the Making A Difference Scholarship Fund. The Making A Difference scholarship is a $2000 scholarship awarded to a graduating Beacon High senior.This award is split over the course of 4 years to ensure there is support for our scholars throughout their entire undergraduate studies.

The race will start and finish at Memorial Park. Last call registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and race to begin at 9:00 a.m., rain or shine. The registration fee is $25 for all participants through 9/1; $30 after 9/1.

All fitness levels welcome! This event is designed for the whole family to enjoy! Strollers allowed.

I Am Beacon is a registered 501(c)(3), non-profit organization which promotes a better community for all regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation or political affiliation.

The Hard Cider Run: New York

4th Annual 5K Run/Walk With The Dogs

The 5k Run/Walk With The Dogs is a fun non-competitive charity event to benefit Animal Rescue Foundation in Beacon, NY. The event is geared for the whole family, even your dogs! Participants will be able to walk or run by themselves or with their dogs. Your dogs are welcome to participate in the run or walk as long as they are leashed at all times, are current on their rabies & distemper vaccines, and have EXCELLENT temperament with other dogs & children. Strollers are welcome in the run and walk as well. Early Bird registration has ended but you can still register the day of for $30.00 All Proceeds to Benefit Animal Rescue Foundation.

About the Course
The Safe Harbors of the Hudson Off Broadway 5K features stunning views of the Hudson River and the famous architecture of Newburgh’s historic district.

Starting and finishing in historic downtown at 111 Broadway Newburgh, the 5K will take you on a great tour of this Hudson Valley city.

2nd Annual Cannonball Run

A Little Beacon Blog is proud to be a Sponsor for this event! Join us for our annual “Cannonball Run” through the University Settlement property on Saturday, July 7th. Choose a 5-kilometer or mile-long course; both end with a jump into the Beacon Pool. This is a trail run! Be prepared for some hills!

Registration starts at 9:30. First heat starts at 10:15

A donation of $20 for the 5K and $5 for the mile is suggested to benefit the Beacon Rec After School Programs. Cash and exact change are appreciated.

The 16th Annual Great Newburgh to Beacon Hudson River Swim

Support of this event goes to the operation and maintenance of The River Pool ( A wonderful opportunity for experienced swimmers to swim about one mile (72 lengths of a standard 25 yard pool) across the Hudson River & raise funds to benefit non-profit volunteer organization River Pool at Beacon. All swimmers must pre-register by Friday, July 19, 2019. Registration the day of the race will not be allowed.

From start to finish the Insane Inflatable 5K is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. When we say INSANE, we mean it. As one of our participants said, “When you drive up and see the enormity of the inflatables it’s crazy.” That’s what we were going for!

At the Insane Inflatable 5K it’s not all about running, what we care about most is you having a #CrazyFun day. Just show up ready to make some #CrazyFun memories with your friends and family, we’ll do the rest. When it’s time to take on our GIANT inflatables, feel free to be a kid again; you’ll laugh until you cry! Afterwards take a load off, crack open a cold beverage and reminisce in our Midway.

Kids Dash & Orchard 5K Run

Race through the orchard and enjoy a donut or two along the way. Folks of all ages and levels of experience are welcome!

There are two different races to choose from:
1) Kids’ Dash, where kids race 1,000 meters (just over 1/2 mile) through the orchard

2) 5K for Adults (and children) where participants can run a designated course that winds through our orchards at a competitive or leisurely pace.

Ferncliff Forest 5K Turkey Trot

Event helps to fund all projects and operating expenses at Ferncliff Forest, we are a totally privately funded nature preserve and have NO paid employees. 100% of money raised will go to the forest fund. The forest is a great place for a Trail run, Hike or Mtn Bike ride. Walkers Welcome!  Get a group together and come on out. You don’t have to be a runner.
