Rhinebeck Bank | Fall Home-Buying Tips
Pro-Tip from Rhinebeck Bank: Just as purchasing a home is an extensive process; selling one can be as well. Most sellers do not want to enter the holiday season with interruptions and the selling process on their mind. It is not uncommon for homeowners that have not sold by the fall to wait until the following spring. With this being said, sellers are worn out and may be more willing to negotiate and expedite the closing and move-in process.

Happening This Weekend 9/28/2018

Congratulations on making it through September! One of Beacon’s biggest events is Sunday, so get ready to fill yourself with Beacon spirit. The kids and parents of the Beacon City Schools, as well as many nonprofit organizations which you can see here have been working hard to present their interpretations of this year’s parade theme: “Celebrating Unity.”

SEEKING STATEMENTS FOR ARTICLE:

Antalek & Moore Insurance Agency

According to the independent insurance agents at Antalek & Moore, if you have a condo in Beacon, you'll need personal insurance for it. Even though it is your home, homeowners insurance is insufficient. Therefore, you may think that you need a renters insurance policy - but unfortunately that would leave coverage gaps as well, despite some similarities. Let Antalek & Moore break it down for you.

Rhinebeck Bank | Buying a Home in the Fall
Just as purchasing a home is an extensive process, selling one can be as well. Most sellers do not want to enter the holiday season with interruptions and the selling process on their mind. It is not uncommon for homeowners that have not sold by the fall to wait until the following spring. With this being said, sellers are worn out and may be more willing to negotiate and expedite the closing and move-in process.

Happening This Weekend 8/31/2018

It's here - the final official weekend of summer is upon us! Even though we may have September days that are just too hot for those Back To School wardrobe updates. (Remember how hot it was last Spirit of Beacon Day? We remember that it was really hot - we were marching in that parade with South Avenue!!)

Speaking of Spirit of Beacon Day, the theme this year is "Celebrating Unity," and the legendary event is set for September 30, the last Sunday of September. The parade acts as a kickoff to Fall events around Beacon and the Hudson Valley.

Pop-up shops and work retreats are booking up at our space! Check The Space's schedule and look for a new Halloween-themed shop, and a Vintage '90s shop to be posted shortly!

And now, for what's going on in the neighborhood and beyond...

Community Banking meant a lot to Henry and Melissa when they closed on their home with Rhinebeck Bank. "Our lender Matt made us feel really comfortable right off the bat. We felt during the whole process that we were his only customer, even though I’m sure he had 20 other people to make his priority as well. Our closing day was the most relaxed experience I could have ever imagined. I didn’t know it would be that easy!”

Happy humid and rainy weekend! You'd best enjoy the warmth while it lasts, because we spotted some red leaves on the baby trees while returning from a mini-getaway up north. Fall is indeed coming, which means two things: the Annual Car Show and Back to School. See details below on setting up Car Show sponsorships with the Beacon Chamber of Commerce.

What do these cupcakes have to do with fall? They've been baked and decorated by local baker Five Hens, and in the spirit of lifelong education, she's teaching middle and high schoolers how to make their own on Wednesday, August 22, at the Howland Library. Register now if it's not already full. This is why you should check A Little Beacon Blog's Kids Classes Guide mid-week for weekday dates - for those classes that happen during the week!
