Information > Butterfly Day at Bannerman Island Date: Saturday, September 3, 2025 Time: Boats depart at 11am and 12pm Location: Bannerman Island, Beacon, NY The Bannerman Castle Trust has rescheduled their Annual Butterfly Day on Bannerman Island for Wednesday September 3rd.  Enjoy a short Hudson River cruise aboard the Estuary Steward tour boat, which leaves from the Beacon, NY dock directly across from the Beacon Metro North Train Station.  Boats depart for the Island at 11:00am and 12:00 noon, returning at 1:30 and 2:30pm.  Tickets are $45 per person (group rates available for 10 or more).  Early September is a great time to visit the island’s magnificent gardens and terraces and witness the migration of Monarch butterflies in the Hudson Valley. Garden volunteers have restored the original gardens that Francis Bannerman VI and his wife Helen had designed between 1900-1918 and new flowers and plants have been integrated, attracting many varieties of butterflies.
