Happening This Weekend 8/24/2018

Happy Introduction to Fall!

Maybe you will blow-dry your hair this weekend or get a blowout from one of the salons in Beacon (men: it's a humidity thing). Whatever activities you pick, you've got a beautiful weekend ahead.

PS: The art galleries are still filled with the art that debuted earlier this month. If you're with friends and want to be in the know for where to go in Beacon's art world, visit A Little Beacon Blog's August Art Gallery Guide. Art-hopping is a great free activity!
Sponsored by Antalek & Moore for car insurance.

Apparently "bridal bomber" jackets are a thing (Martha Stewart said so). Lambs Hill is always on-trend, and carries this sheer jacket by Justin Alexander. But how does one wear that? Hints: You can layer it over your dress to complement an industrial or urban venue, or take it to the beach on your honeymoon. The possibilities are endless!

Thank you to the following shops for sponsoring our Shopping Guide!  Luxe Optique, Wares Shop, and Lambs Hill.

Rhinebeck Bank
Community Banking meant a lot to Henry and Melissa when they closed on their home with Rhinebeck Bank. "Our lender Matt made us feel really comfortable right off the bat. We felt during the whole process that we were his only customer, even though I’m sure he had 20 other people to make his priority as well. Our closing day was the most relaxed experience I could have ever imagined. I didn’t know it would be that easy!”

BeaconArts
The Clara Lou Gould Fund for the Arts is now accepting applications for the award; the deadline is Friday, September 7, 2018. To honor Clara Lou Gould upon the occasion of her retirement after 18 years of service as Beacon’s mayor, and in recognition of her support of arts and culture in Beacon, BeaconArts created a special fund. The goal of the Clara Lou Gould Fund for the Arts is to sponsor Beacon projects that aren't generally supported by other area arts organizations, including individual artists' projects, unique exhibitions, performance or public art projects, arts education programs, and community projects that promote area artists and arts activities, drawing attention to the valuable role of arts and culture in our community.
