In a time when Beacon, NY has become an official Top Travel Destination by numerous media outlets, including Forbes 2026, and most recently Priceline, ranking 3rd for “Top Places To Travel In 2027,” traffic and parking remain top topics for residents who have seen it all, and keep seeing more. Like the car that drove on top of the parked car on Sunday afternoon at 3:07pm, according to a witness who heard the impact and submitted photos to A Little Beacon Blog.

“You can’t park there!” exclaimed one witness in a video after Beacon’s Fire Department arrived to the situation of a gray Toyota RAV4 with New York plates that had driven onto a parked royal blue Toyota. Witnesses say that the gray Toyota RAV4 was driven by a woman with another woman in the vehicle. The blue Toyota was parked in front of the tattoo studio art gallery, Distortion Society, and the Factory Hotel, just down the block from Pandorica Restaurant, the only Doctor Who themed restaurant on the east coast.

A witness told ALBB that the blue Toyota belonged to a Doctor Who fan who was in town to attend a costume event at the Pandorica Restaurant. “I heard the impact,” the witness told ALBB. “The Pandorica Restaurant was having their costume event, so all of these Doctor Who people came out in britches and other costumes. The person who owned the blue car shouted ‘What happened to my car!’”
ALBB has submitted a FOIL request to the Beacon Police for the Police Report. Police closed the west end of Main Street for over an hour while the tow company worked to get the car off the other car.
Beacon Fire Chief Lucchesi responded to ALBB’s inquiry as to how crews removed the car from the other car, saying: "From what I read in the Incident Report, it doesn’t appear that anyone was injured. Our crew stood by until the tow truck operator safely removed the vehicles."
It has not yet been confirmed how the accident happened.
Local cosmetologist and videographer, Sara Juszkiewicz, recorded a video and published it to her Instagram @acosmtologistinthehudsonvalley. It has been republished to ALBB below with her permission.
Said the Priceline article in describing how people are traveling these days and choosing destinations: “That mindset will also show up in what they book: crossing off a bucket list destination, chasing a dish spotted in their feed, test-driving a city as a possible next home, or planning the whole trip around a party that doesn’t stop.”
Indeed.
