Coat Drive Directory

Name of Event: The Dutchess Outreach Susan DeKeukelaere Coat Drive
Dates: 27th Annual Coat Drive,
 10/1/2021 - 10/31/2021

Donations of winter coats are needed, now more than ever. The goal of Guardian Self Storage’s annual coat drive is to keep local families warm each winter. Coats can be donated all month long through October 31st. You may drop off clean, new or gently used winter coats at any of the fourteen Guardian Self Storage locations, and at all locations of Raymour & Flanigan, Rhinebeck Bank, Red Cap Cleaners, and Ulster Savings Bank. Only freshly washed or dry cleaned coats will be accepted. New gloves, hats and scarves are also welcome. Children’s coats are especially needed, although every coat collected is appreciated, and will help families and individuals in need. Safety precautions are in place at all drop-off locations due to the current pandemic. We recommend that you wear a mask and practice social distancing when dropping off coats to keep everyone safe.

Monetary donations will be accepted at all Guardian Self Storage locations, just look for the Coat Drive drop box. You can also donate online at iHeart.com or DutchessOutreach.com. Every donation helps those in need.

Guardian Self Storage has held their annual coat drive for the past 26 years, and community partners are working to make this year’s coat drive bigger and better than ever. In 2021, there is a continuing need for donated coats due to the economic impact of the pandemic. To fill the growing need, iHeartRadio has partnered with Guardian Self Storage, and Mid-Hudson Subaru and Ulster Savings Bank have have joined this community project with the mission of keeping people in our local communities warm this winter. Dutchess Outreach and The People’s Place will distribute the coats to those in need in three counties.

Guardian Self Storage would like to thank the community and local businesses for past contributions. Thousands of coats have been collected, impacting the lives of so many in our community. Please help make this year a huge success once again. Your donations are especially important during this challenging time. You will be making a real difference for families in your community this winter. All of the collected coats will be distributed for free this fall in Dutchess, Ulster and Orange counties through various local organizations.

Guardian Self Storage has been giving back to the community for over 34 years. Each year, during the month of June, the managers at each of the fourteen Guardian locations choose a community organization to support with a month long drive or collection. Some of the local groups that have benefited during 2021 are the Hyde Park Food Pantry and Take Me Home Pet Rescue. All donations stay local.

For more information call Dutchess Outreach at 845-454-3792. Both monetary donations and donations of new or clean gently used winter coats are greatly appreciated.
