VIDEO: ALBB's City Council Meeting Recap For 9/21/2026: Hotel Lobbies and Fishkill Creek Development

This is the short video for the City Council Meeting Recap for 9/21/2026.

There is now an official Barbara Sims Day (of BJs Soul Food) Proclamation. It will be every September 27th.

🍩☕️🚗 ALBB weaved in the Dunkin Donuts Drive-Thru Debate from last year as they discussed legislating hotels in the Fishkill corridor to make hotels more possible (and without lobbies or employees!), so be sure to listen till the end. The part that escaped me in the video was:

- Councilperson Zach pointed out that with Short Term Rentals, the Council required the homeowner to be accessible and possibly on site. But are OK with no employees being at the hotel as a contact person/manager/hotel lobby greeter.

- Councilperson Amber was Ok with no lobbies and contactless checkin, but wanted to ban Storage Units because they did not offer enough employment if there was a tele-manager on a TV screen at a storage unit.

- Travel. If this area is being redesigned as a travel destination for tourists to park themselves, why did City Council ban drive-thrus when Healey family developers wanted to open the Dunkin Donuts with a drive-thru? Seems hypocritical. And possibly developer focused on how they are zoning.
