🌹This is Charlotte Haug. She is the keeper of the Padre Pio Shrine here in Beacon. She is also the keeper of a lot of history in Beacon, as her grandfather and father built several of the older buildings still standing in Beacon. She tells A Little Beacon Blog: “My grandfather Jimmy Lynch built most of those beautiful buildings, and magnificent houses, yes with my father Chuck.”

Charlotte was a hair dresser, and could be a stand-in for Paul Newman’s wife, Joanne Woodward. Paul Newman starred in the movie Nobody’s Fool, filmed in Beacon. If you want updates on celebrity sightings in Beacon, Charlotte most likely has your inside information.

Charlotte has overcome cancer, and even being hit by a car in a gas station parking lot here in Beacon. “I beat cancer twice,” she told ALBB. “I am a third time survivor, with the car accident, talk about miracles.” She is an incredible person. Very enthusiastic and loving. She lives for connecting people to Padre Pio to improve their lives. 🌹

Charlotte wants readers of A Little Beacon Blog to know that “miracles are still happening.” She says: “I am thrilled that we have such a special place where our visitors can go to anytime, day or night. The dogs love Padre’s shrine so much too, and have also had miracles.”

These roses here at the Sha’s Mobile gas station are in full bloom in a deep pink. “Padre grew them,” Charlotte told ALBB. There are little figures of Jesus also on the bricks that make up the shrine that were placed there with her permission by a local person who sells them inside of the gas station. The American flag is Sha’s.

The shrine is an organic effort of Charlotte’s, and she encourages people to go near it if and when they need comfort. “Padre’s radiant red new roses are blooming and so beautiful.” 🌹
