"Camp @ The Camp"

Beacon Recreation is offering five weeks of camp designed to deepen children's relationship to the local ecology, nourish their own creativity, build community, and simply play outdoors. Run by an experienced team of youth leaders , Camp @ The Camp will offer another summer of fun at the Settlement Camp. Each week of camp has a different theme. Every day, rain or shine, children ages 5-11 will play outside and get creative (4 year-olds are accepted for one week only). 

Activities Include:

*    Playing field games
*    Singing, writing songs, performing
*    Designing, making art
*    Exploring The Camp
*    Telling stories and growing camp community spirit

Great For: Spending the summer outdoors in a natural setting
4 year-olds are accepted but for one week of your choice only, and must be age 4 by May 1, 2018.
5-11 year-olds (must have birthday by July 1, 2018)
12-15 year-olds for Counselor In Training CIT Program

CITs may apply for up to three weeks as a Counselor in Training.

South Ave. Park Day Camp - Drop-In

A traditional free, drop-in park program for children to participate in supervised activities throughout the day. Summer Park Days staff provide quality recreational experiences that promote creativity, teamwork and healthy lifestyles. Activities include organized sports, arts and crafts, games, team building and nutrition lessons.
Great For: Engaging kids with outdoor and indoor activities
Ages: All ages
Swimming: No
Dates for 2018: Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays (Start and end date TBD)
Times: 10am-2pm - Drop In
Early Drop-off and Late Pickup Available: No
Price: FREE
Flexibility: This is a drop-in program. Come one day or all of the days. Program is limited to 20 children per day.

Multi-Sport Camp

This Multi-Sport Camp was designed to provide children with an opportunity to develop good character, learn valuable life skills, discover new interests, and make new friends. Kids can bring snacks and water jugs each day.
Great For: Active kids who want to play outside and with each other for a short bit.
Ages: Grades 4th-8th
Weeks Of: July 9  |  July 30th

Location: Memorial Park and Rombout Middle School
Price: $100/week for Beacon Residents  $125/week for non-residents

Beacon Youth Police Academy Camp

This youth academy is presented with the support of our local Beacon Police Department and PBA.  The goal of the program is to help participating youth understand the roles and responsibilities of police officers in our community, job duties performed and requirements of becoming a police officer.  Students go on field trips to a court, correctional facility, training center, police academy, police station and more.  They will also be trained in first aid and CPR.  
Great For: Kids interested in law enforcement
Ages: 9-12th grade

Beacon Youth Fire Academy Camp

This free week long program for students entering grades 8-11 will provide an introduction to careers in the fire department.  Our Youth Fire Academy will meet from July 23-27, 2018 from 9am-3pm at Lewis Tompkins Hose.  We are planning a field trip to a training center as well as professionals and volunteers to share their experiences.  We are hoping for an awesome week.  The goal of the academy is to help participating youth to understand the role firefighters play in the community, job duties performed and requirements of becoming a firefighter.  In addition, the program will foster relationships between the adults and the youth participants.  This will be accomplished with mock situations and lectures, field trips, physical fitness exercises, and games.  Space is limited!  Apply by July 15, 2018
